Mr. Narakazu Wada is one of the few craftsman who has the skill to use a Japanese traditional technique called "SHICHIHO” (七宝). The design "SHICHIHO" is used for “Ranma” (欄間), which is carved wooden panels above the sliding door of the Japanese style room. Using Hinoki (cedar) wood made specially at Yoshino in Nara. Each small parts of the wood is carved with hands one by one and then put together to make a geometric design.

With this same technique he has made coaster and a table mat to be used daily.

Handling Instructions

Each products are handmade and there will be a slight difference in size and the weight.
Hinoki/cedar wood of Japan, should avoid direct sunlight, or to be near a heating /cooling equipment or humidifier which may cause discoloration and deformation.
There will be a change of color due to aging of the wood during use over the years.
For cleaning, wipe with a damp cloth.
